Erica
grew up dancing and performing different styles of dance. As
soon as she graduated from San Diego State University with a B.S.
in Electrical Engineering in 2005, she finally had time to pursue her
passion for salsa dancing. She quickly joined Majesty in Motion
Dance Company, the largest salsa dance company in San Diego. Soon
after, she also joined the Salsa Divas, the first all ladies salsa team
in San Diego, and performed
with them for their first routine in 2005. She then took a break
from the Salsa Divas shortly after to focus on her career as an
Engineer at Qualcomm
and her previous dance commitments with Majesty in
Motion's professional, traveling, performance team. Partnering with
co-director of Majesty in Motion, Juan Carlos
Hernandez, she traveled
with the professional team to perform at events and congresses in San
Diego,
Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Palm Springs.

As dance
partners,
Juan and Erica choreographed a solo routine and performed and taught
workshops for private events in San Diego and New Mexico and taught
group classes weekly in and around San Diego at Culture Shock, Cheek 2
Cheek, Synergy Dance Zone, and Qualcomm Inc..Erica
left Majesty in Motion in the summer of 2007 to go back to school.
After celebrating the New Year of 2008 she made a
major career change, trading in the corporate job to focus her attention on her dance career. She returned to the Salsa Divas in February of 2008 and will be performing with them at the West Coast Salsa Congress in Los Angeles in May of 2008 and the New York Salsa Congress in September of 2008. Erica is currently teaching group classes at Qualcomm Inc., private lessons, providing Latin entertainment to corporate and private events, and performing with the Salsa Divas at events in and around San Diego.
